NCT’s Taeil Leaves K-Pop Group Amidst Sexual Misconduct Allegations, Label Announces
SM Entertainment, the agency behind K-pop groups NCT, Aespa, and Riize, has announced that a member of NCT has been removed from the group following allegations of sexual misconduct.
In a statement posted on X, the agency revealed that 30-year-old Taeil was facing accusations related to a sexual crime. A representative from SM Entertainment told Variety, “As we assessed the situation, we recognized the seriousness of the allegations and decided that he could no longer participate in group activities. After discussions with Taeil, it was agreed that he would withdraw from the group.”
The agency added that Taeil is “fully cooperating” with the ongoing police investigation and apologized for the “controversy caused by our artist.”
