'Dancing with the Stars' pro Artem Chigvintsev arrested for domestic violence following Nikki Bella wedding anniversary celebration
'Dancing With the Stars' professional Artem Chigvintsev has been arrested for domestic battery. The dancer was taken into custody in Napa County, California, on Thursday morning, just before 10 a.m., on a felony domestic violence charge. His bail has been set at $25,000, and online records indicate he remains in custody. According to the booking report, Chigvintsev is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds.
Deputies from the Napa County Sheriff’s Department responded to a domestic violence call in Yountville shortly before 10 a.m. on Thursday, and TMZ reports that the arrest was made at the scene and involved injuries.
A representative from the Napa County Sheriff’s office stated that the victim has requested complete confidentiality and that the investigation is ongoing.
Chigvintsev has been charged under California Penal Code Section 273.5(a) PC, which criminalizes injuring a spouse, cohabitant, or fellow parent in a domestic violence incident.
The professional dancer will not be returning for the upcoming Season 33 of 'DWTS,' according to Page Six. A source confirmed, “There were no plans for Artem to be a part of Season 33.”
Chigvintsev is married to TV personality and retired WWE diva Nikki Bella, now known professionally as Nikki Garcia. The couple had just celebrated their second wedding anniversary on August 26.
